“Delicious food, friendly service and quality products underpin our inspiration for creating a classic bicycle cafe where customers can indulge their passion for great coffee and classic bikes in one satisfying fix”

Having shared a house together in Amsterdam, long time friends John and Grahame decided to bring their love of Dutch cycling culture home to Sydney. The result is the Town Bike Pitstop, located in a charming old butcher shop in a once notoriously dangerous but now transformed corner of Redfern. Together, they have created one of Australia’s most authentic Bike Cafes, built upon a mutual ‘desire to inspire’ greater enjoyment of commuter cycling in Sydney’s inner city.

Since 2012 the cafe and workshop have been pumping out the coffee and working the wrenches to keep their locals and cyclists up and moving. Their friendly workshop mechanics can handle any type of bicycle servicing needs, but the particular bent on bicycles is decidedly “ commuter-chic” with a focus on high quality bikes and stylish accessories specifically suited to the urban cycling environment.
